New Dugger Lions Club Holding Induction Ceremony, Recruiting Members

The Dugger Lions Club was assigned its Charter 25E on June 16th, and they already boast 43 members.

The Dugger Lions Club International Chapter will host an induction ceremony, an auction, and a dinner starting at 6:30 p.m. on August 9th at the Dugger Community Center.

The cost is $10 for Lions Club members and $15 for non-members, and everyone is welcome to attend.

President Lesa Lewellyn said the induction ceremony would be a great time to join the club.

The new chapter is sponsored by Glynn Willis and Ed Hays of the Sullivan Lions Club. Vern and Linda Tinchner of the Riley Lions Club organized the Dugger chapter.

Along with Lewellyn, the officers of the new club include Secretary Mendy Smith, Treasurer Stacy Piker, and Membership Chairman Carolyn Settles.

According to its official mission statement, the Lions Club mission is to empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs.

Lions Clubs International serves communities in more than 207 countries and geographic areas. They are the largest service club organization in the world, with 1.35 million members in more than 46,000 clubs.
